History

Mission

The Federal Government College of Enugu (“FGCE”) Alumni Association is dedicated to fostering a strong and enduring relationship between FGCE and its alumni and friends. We were founded to preserve and promote the principles of the school via networking and mentoring opportunities; Regional, international, and affinity associations alumni chapters; Educational programs; and other forms of communication and outlets.

Our goals are to connect, build and keep the spirit of the alumni and alma mater, support projects that will sustain the needs of the students and institution; support scholarship and mentoring efforts; increase membership; enhance communications; centralize the associations; and enhance FGCE’s position.

Vision

The FGCE Alumni Association’s vision is to build and sustain a life-long relationship between FGCE and its alumni and friends to support the goals,principles and advancement of FGCE.

About

FGCE Alumni traces its roots back to 1973 with students ranging from Junior Secondary One (JS1) to Senior Secondary Three (SS3) with prominent alumni such as governors, ministers, industry executives and other highly placed individuals of society.

The FGCE Alumni Association of the Americas will host its first reunion on July 18 – 20, 2014. That spirit of celebration and resounding pride has inspired our fondest traditions, and the idea to create this website to unify our members and cause. We will provide valuable benefits and programs that let our members tap into this vast network and stay connected to the Leaders and Best and keep everyone updated on FGCE. Our vision and mission statements highlight our dedication to serve all FGCE alumni.

FGCE Alumni Association is an independent, worldwide organization that nurtures lifelong relationships with and among current and future alumni. Underlying all that we do is the belief in the value of education to the well-being of society, and a commitment to integrity, diversity, and service.

We provide benefits, and activities of interest to the alumni and foster an alumni body which is interested and involved in the affairs and functions of the school, and to provide such assistance to the school as may from time to time be requested of it. We plan to remain as best we are able, one of the great schools in the nation and world.
